In order to ensure the quality of imported products and the health and safety of Kenyans and the protection of the environment, comply with Kenyan technical regulations and mandatory standards or approved equivalent standards. Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS-a statutory body of the Kenyan government, responsible for formulating and implementing standards for imported and domestic products in the Kenyan market), implements pre-export product and standard compliance verification for goods imported into the country (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards, referred to as PVoC) program, all goods in the PVoC catalog must obtain a certificate of conformity (CoC) issued by a KEBS authorized organization before shipment.

1. How to obtain Kenya CoC certification
1. Method: Product testing and inspection Each batch of export goods must be sampled for product testing or provided with an accredited laboratory test report or certificate before shipment, and pre-shipment inspection.
2. Supervision of loading: Starting from September 1, 2016, all goods entering Kenya must be cleared with a PVOC certificate issued by KEBS for supervising packaging and packaging. The charge standard is not more than 500 yuan per container.
2. PVOC certification fee standard

0.5% of the FOB value of the shipped goods, low fee: USD250/order, high USD2375/order

3. PVOC certification business process:
1. CTB customer service staff provide electronic data packages to customers (including: Kenya PVOC introduction, PVOC application form (template), etc.);
2. The customer submits relevant information (including but not limited to: test report (please refer to the precautions for test report requirements), PVOC application form, import declaration form, packing list, invoice, etc.) to CTB customer service personnel, and make an appointment for inspection and installation supervision Time (please two to three working days in advance);
3. CTB reviews customer information and confirms the time of inspection and installation with the customer;
4. The CTB customer service staff will send the customer a charge notice, inspection notice and inform the customer of the inspector information one working day before the inspection; the customer must return the signed and stamped inspection notice by email on the same day; the charge notice will be returned to the customer. Please send the documents together with the payment slip to CTB Finance before issuing the certificate, so as to arrange the billing and mailing of the certificate;
5. CTB inspectors will carry out on-site cargo inspection and supervision according to the agreed time;
6. If the inspection data needs to be updated, the customer needs to submit the final data to the CTB customer service staff on the day when the inspection is completed;
7. The customer service staff will send the draft COC to the customer for verification and confirmation within two working days after receiving the final information of the customer;
8. After the certificate is confirmed and the money is received, Kenya will issue the certificate in about 2-3 working days, and send the certificate in 5-7 working days.
Fourth, PVOC certification matters needing attention:
1. The application form, packing list and invoice need to be stamped.
2. The validity period of the test report and the approval period:
(1) A recent test report (within 3 months) is required for products such as disposable medical supplies, dry batteries, stationery, cosmetics, disposable hygiene products, fertilizers, textiles, ceramic tiles and PVC flooring. The validity period of the test reports for other products can be relaxed. to one year;
(2) Electrical products need to provide CE certificate or safety performance test report;
(3) For products belonging to the legal inspection category, a copy of the certificate of renewal or release issued by CIQ, test report, health certificate and other information must be provided; it is noted that the shelf life after Hong Kong must be controlled within 75%. If it cannot be provided, a sampling test shall be arranged, and the cost shall be borne by the applicant.
3. If the goods are packaged with wood and plant materials, please provide the official fumigation certificate or visible fumigation logo.
4. If the inspection is changed or cancelled on the day of the confirmation inspection, our company will treat it as a re-inspection. When our company‘s inspector arrives at the agreed inspection location, all the goods to be inspected must be prepared and personnel shall be arranged to assist in the inspection. During loading inspection, the container must arrive on time. If the container is late, our inspector will wait for an extra hour on site. If the container is still unable to arrive within one hour, the inspector will leave the site, and your company/factory must reschedule the inspection time.
5. Inspection and installation supervision must be carried out at the same time and place. If the address is inconsistent, unknown or temporarily changed, the inspection cannot be carried out in time, the applicant company/factory must make a new appointment for the inspection, and our company will charge a re-inspection fee at the next inspection.
6. The applicant company/factory must arrange personnel to assist our company‘s inspectors to carry out the inspection. If the inspection is delayed or cannot be carried out due to unassisted inspection at the inspection site, incomplete goods, or other reasons caused by the applicant, the applicant company / The factory will bear the cost of re-inspection or overtime cost caused by this.
7. The shipment of the whole cabinet requires the inspector of our company to supervise the whole process of the installation. Under normal circumstances, the loading time of 1-2 containers should not exceed 2 hours, and the loading time of 3 or more containers should not exceed 4 hours.
8. The requirements for loading supervision are: generally, the loading cannot be carried out at night or on weekends, otherwise the personnel arrangement may not be achieved.
5. The difference between Kenya COC certification and PVOC certification:
The full name of COC certification is a declaration of conformity, which has different forms in different countries. Among them, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in the three East African countries are called PVOC certification. So Kenya COC certification = Kenya PVOC certification.
